Dermatology Residency

Curriculum

Residents will complete Dermatology residency training with renowned faculty in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.


Dermatology Residency Year 1 (PGY2)

During the first year of residency, residents will be doing mostly General Dermatology rotations at Bare Dermatology, under the guidance of Dr. William Abramovits, Dr. Clay Cockerell and Dr. Aaron Farberg.

Dermatopathology rotations will be under the guidance of Dr. Clay Cockerell, Program Director, at Cockerell Dermatopathology, a state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of Dallas. They will also do rotation in Complex Medical Dermatology with Dr. Natalie Wright in her office in Plano.

The Dermatological Hospital Consult service will take place at Baylor University Medical Center, in a longitudinal pace under the main guidance of Dr. Dario Kivelevitch.


Dermatology Residency Year 2 (PGY3)

During the second year of residency, residents will again be doing mostly General Dermatology rotations at Bare Dermatology, under the guidance of Dr. William Abramovits, Dr. Clay Cockerell and Dr. Aaron Farberg.

Dermatopathology rotations will be under the guidance of Dr. Clay Cockerell, Program Director, at Cockerell Dermatopathology, a state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of Dallas. Residents will also rotate in Surgical Dermatology rotations with Dr. Aaron Farberg, Director of the Dermatological Surgery service in the program.

The Dermatological Hospital Consult service will take place at Baylor University Medical Center in a longitudinal pace under the main guidance of Dr. Dario Kivelevitch. Residents will also have a Pediatric Dermatology Consult experience under the guidance of Dr. Heather Volkman at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.


Dermatology Residency Year 3 (PGY4)

For the third year of the program, residents will again be doing mostly General Dermatology rotations at Bare Dermatology, under the guidance of Dr. William Abramovits, Dr. Clay Cockerell and Dr. Aaron Farberg.

Dermatopathology rotations will be under the guidance of Dr. Clay Cockerell, Program Director, at Cockerell Dermatopathology, a state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of Dallas. Residents will also rotate in Surgical Dermatology rotations with Dr. Aaron Farberg, Director of the Dermatological Surgery service in the program.

The Dermatological Hospital Consult service will take place at Baylor University Medical Center, in a longitudinal pace under the main guidance of Dr. Dario Kivelevitch. Residents also rotate to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth for a Pediatric Dermatology Consult experience under the guidance of Dr. Heather Volkman.

The Cosmetic Dermatology experience will be with Dr. Martin Kassir, a world-renowned specialist in the field.
