Originally from Metro Detroit and a graduate of Michigan State University, Marissa completed her Transitional Year residency at Largo Medical Center in Largo, FL, and earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale.
Before starting her Dermatology residency in Dallas, Marissa completed a two-year Clinical Research Fellowship in Dermatology at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, where she specialized in photomedicine, hidradenitis suppurativa, pigmentary disorders, scars, skin cancer, and multicultural dermatology. She enjoys exploring the world, trying diverse cuisines, and attending contemporary art exhibits.
